After getting the Week 2 start due to a pregame injury to Tyrod Taylor, Justin Herbert has been officially named the Los Angeles Chargers' starting QB for a Week 3 meeting with the Carolina Panthers.

Herbert's fantasy football outlook in this matchup makes him a viable starting quarterback in fantasy for Week 3.

Justin Herbert Fantasy Outlook

Justin Herbert impressed in his debut against the Kansas City Chiefs, nearly leading the Chargers to an upset victory over the reigning Super Bowl champs.

Herbert was asked to throw the ball 33 times, and he completed 22 (66.7 percent) of those for 311 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. He added another 18 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground, finishing as fantasy football's QB13 with 22.2 fantasy points on the week.

According to Pro-Football-Reference, that is the 10th best fantasy score for a QB making their first career start since 2000.

He draws an intriguing matchup for a repeat performance in his second start as well. The Panthers have given up 30-plus points in each of their first two games this season, and FanDuel Sportsbook has the Chargers as 6.5-point favorites.
