Here's Why John Harbaugh Should Be Coach of the Year

As the NFL closes out Week 6 of the schedule, several teams have already pulled away from the pack. That includes the 5-1 Baltimore Ravens, who are just one of six teams with 1 loss or fewer to start the year.

Aside from the phenomenal play of quarterback Lamar Jackson, a lot of the Ravens' success can be credited to head coach John Harbaugh. He's an early Coach of the Year nominee according to betting odds on FanDuel Sportsbook and for good reason why.

Baltimore has been particularly banged up, leading the league with 16 total players on the IR list. The team with the second most players on IR is the Detroit Lions, and they're winless.

Most notably, Baltimore lost almost the entirety of its running back depth chart ahead of the season including J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Despite the slew of running back injuries, Baltimore still ranks fourth in the league with 155.2 rushing yards per game.

Baltimore's Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers was, perhaps, the most convincing of the year. The defensive front held Justin Herbert and his offense to a measly 6 points.

Currently, Harbaugh holds +1200 odds to win Coach of the Year, the fifth-best mark across the league.

Harbaugh and the Ravens look to improve to 6-1 with a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of their Week 8 bye. Heading into the matchup, the Ravens are 6.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook. Additionally, Baltimore ranks with the fourth-best odds (+900) to win Super Bowl 56.
