The Pittsburgh Steelers will most likely be without their starting running back when they host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. James Conner is listed as doubtful for Sunday's due to a shoulder injury and rookie Benny Snell has already been ruled out.

This opens the door for Jaylen Samuels to receive an every-down role against the Colts, making him one of the week's premier streaming options and/or typical bench players that you can start this week.

Despite popping up on the injury report several times this season, if Conner is ultimately ruled out for Week 9, it will mark his first missed game of 2019. He had best game on the ground in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins on "Monday Night Football," rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown.

Samuels hasn't played since Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, but picked the right time to get healthy with the rest of the Pittsburgh backfield on the mend. Mostly serving a complimentary role this year, Samuels received a season-high 18 touches in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals, which he turned into 83 yards and a touchdown.

Jaylen Samuels Fantasy Outlook

With both Conner and Snell likely sidelined, Samuels slides in as an RB1 in a likely workhorse role on Sunday. He ranks as RB10 in our Week 9 fantasy football PPR rankings.
