If you had Devin Funchess starting on your fantasy football team this week, you definitely weren't rewarded for giving him a spot in your lineup.
Funchess may have been off the injury report, but something had to be wrong with the veteran wide receiver. He didn’t just have a bad game, the box score looks like he never showed up.
Funchess had zero catches in the Carolina Panthers’ loss to the Cleveland Browns and was out-snapped by three other wide receivers.
Devin Funchess was off the injury report but played on just 32-of-72 snaps (43%) and saw 0 targets. DJ Moore 66 snaps, Curtis Samuel 58, Jarius Wright 39.— Adam Levitan (@adamlevitan) December 10, 2018
You're right, he finished with three targets. I was looking at wrong screen. Apologies— Adam Levitan (@adamlevitan) December 10, 2018
Compared to the others Panthers receivers, Funchess had the worst game of the bunch. On a day where he was out-snapped by the majority of the Carolina wideouts, Jarius Wright, D.J. Moore, Ian Thomas, Curtis Samuel, and Christian McCaffrey all received more targets and all finished with more receptions.
This is nothing new for Funchess, who has had just three catches for 49 yards over his last three games. The Panthers have been going in the wrong direction as of late, and it seems like Funchess is heading the same way.
