World Series MVP Odds: Corey Seager, Ketel Marte Among Favorites

The World Series kicks off Friday night as the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks meet up in an improbable final.
Both teams have shocked the world on their way to the Fall Classic, setting up for one of the most unpredictable finishes to an MLB season in quite some time. For each team to get to this point, a number of players have stepped up in the postseason. Who is going to step up once more on the biggest stage?
Let's take a look at the World Series MVP odds per FanDuel Sportsbook.
World Series MVP Odds
Corey Seager, Rangers (+500)
Corey Seager has been the best player for the Rangers all season, and he owns the best odds to take home the MVP hardware.
Seager has destroyed the baseball all year. The shortstop mashed to the tune of a .419 wOBA and 33 home runs in the regular season -- and he's somehow been better in the postseason.
His postseason dominance at the plate can be seen by his .466 wOBA, which ranks second in the playoffs behind Yordan Alvarez. With 3 home runs, 12 runs scored, and 6 RBIs, he's positioned to keep it up as the Rangers continue their chase for their first-ever World Series title.
Texas' franchise player didn't get the ALCS MVP but has proven that he can win the World Series MVP, having done so when the Los Angeles Dodgers won it all in 2020. Seager shows up when it is needed most.
Adolis Garcia, Rangers (+550)
What a series it was for Adolis Garcia in the ALCS.
Garcia put his name on the map for those who weren't already aware of his hulking power and offensive gifts.
The ALCS MVP didn't just earn the honor -- he took it with his undeniably great play. In the seven-game series, Garcia totaled 5 home runs, 7 runs scored, and 15 RBIs. Those five dingers in seven games helped translate to stunning numbers -- a .536 ISO, .530 wOBA, and 1.293 OPS. He was otherworldly, making the Houston Astros regret pitching to him each and every time.

Asking Garcia to repeat such a dominant run may be a lot, but winning the LCS MVP and World Series MVP has become a trend. Over the last three years, both Corey Seager and Jeremy Pena have accomplished such a feat.
With how well Garcia has been swinging the bat, who is going to deny him from being the next to do it? He'll enter superstar status with another round of playoff heroics.
Ketel Marte (+1000)
There's been no stopping Ketel Marte at the plate. He has the NLCS MVP to prove it.
Marte is in the midst of a 16-game hitting streak, helping lead the 84-win D-Backs to an unexpected NL pennant and World Series appearance.
The Arizona second baseman helped spearhead the Snakes' offense in the NLCS. He had a .387 batting average, .581 slugging percentage, and a .987 OPS in the series -- all team-best marks. Nothing Marte did was necessarily flashy, but it included important hits, getting on base, and helping the Diamondbacks get themselves to the Fall Classic.
If he's able to extend the 16-game hitting streak throughout the World Series and Arizona captures a title, he'll likely be one of the main contenders for MVP. At +1000 odds, Marte is not a bad guy to back if you believe in the D-Backs' chances of keeping up the Cinderella story.
Nathan Eovaldi (+1700)
If there's a longshot worth taking, consistent playoff performer Nathan Eovaldi looks like a good dart throw.
Between Eovaldi and Jordan Montgomery, Texas likely couldn't be more thrilled with what the top of their rotation has put together. The main reason for going with Eovaldi, however, is his big-game prowess.
It's hard to forget what he accomplished as part of the 2018 Boston Red Sox. He posted a 1.61 ERA over 22 1/3 innings that postseason -- numbers that he has brought to the Rangers in a postseason where there was plenty of doubt regarding Texas' pitching.
Through his first four starts in the playoffs, Eovaldi has gone 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA, 28 strikeouts, and a 2.92 SIERA through 26 innings. Simply put, he's been as good as anyone on the bump. He deserves some attention because of it.
Depending on how many times Texas uses him in this series, Eovaldi could be a sneaky-good pick for the World Series MVP.
