FanDuel Sportsbook is offering NHL Daily Specials Betting Odds today with all 14 games being played, and that's which team will be the highest-scoring squad of the night. With some high-octane offenses playing, as well as some poor defenses, it's a market that is wide open.

Let's dive into the NHL Highest Scoring Team Odds for Thursday's slate.

Minnesota Wild (+1000)

The Minnesota Wild are in prime position tonight to win this market.

Minnesota will be facing off with the San Jose Sharks, the best matchup for any team when it comes to scoring goals.

San Jose is allowing 3.99 goals against per 60 minutes (GA/60) -- the worst mark in the NHL, unsurprisingly. Their expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60) is the worst in the league, as well, coming in at 3.65. That's a 0.21 difference between them and the next worst team.

It may not seem like a lot, but considering the average, the Sharks are way ahead in watching goals scored in their net. Oh, they're also allowing 4.90 GA/60 in their last 10 games.

Mackenzie Blackwood will be between the pipes for Sharks. It's been a rough season for him with a 3.57 goals against average (GAA) and .896 save percentage (SV%). It gets only worse when you look at his last two games, as he's allowed 10 goals total in those starts. It's rather good timing for the Wild to cash in tonight.

The Wild aren't a high-scoring team with 3.02 expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and 3.00 goals for per 60 minutes (GF/60). However, they can do damage against a team like the Sharks tonight. They're 10th in the NHL over their last 25 games, scoring at a slightly higher rate of 3.17 GF/60.

That gives me enough confidence in them, especially against San Jose.

Pittsburgh Penguins (+1300)

With +1300 odds, the Pittsburgh Penguins are tied with the second-best odds to be the highest-scoring team of the night.

A lot of the reasoning behind this is due to playing against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Columbus has been all about allowing goals. They have the second-worst GA/60 in hockey with a 3.62 clip. They're 29th with a 3.43 xGA/60, as well.

The problem with this bet tonight is that the Penguins aren't good at scoring. That's been their biggest problem this year -- but it's not because they haven't shown some signs of being able to. Pittsburgh ranks third with 3.42 xGF/60, yet is all the way down in 23rd with 2.89 GF/60. That's rough, which makes it hard to count on them tonight.

Daniil Tarasov is starting for the Blue Jackets. He's struggled this season -- which is good news for the Penguins -- and has allowed four goals in each of the last two games. The Penguins have a tough time scoring, but if they're going to break through, it'll be tonight.

Carolina Hurricanes (+1300)

A high-powered offense like the Carolina Hurricanes is always a threat to score the most on any given night. It just happens to help that they're playing against the Detroit Red Wings.

Through their last 10 games, the Hurricanes are scoring at an elite rate of 3.73 GF/60. On the other side, the Red Wings are letting up a handful of goals per game over the same span (3.78 GA/60). Timing is everything, and this is a suitable time to rely on Carolina in this market.

It's been a season of domination with the Hurricanes repping the best Corsi for per 60 minutes (CF/60) in the league at 69.97. The opportunities are going to be there against the Red Wings, especially since their Corsi against per 60 minutes (CA/60) is so poor.

The Hurricanes are the best team in the top five in terms of nightly play, so that should at least have bettors considering them. Given how these two teams are trending right now, the Hurricanes are a strong bet at +1300 odds.

Ottawa Senators (+1500)

If there's one thing that the Ottawa Senators have done right this season, it's score goals.

And that's what we're hoping for tonight with their odds at +1500 to be the highest-scoring squad on the slate. They'll be facing the Chicago Blackhawks in tonight's game -- an ideal opponent for lighting up the box score.

The Senators are averaging 3.18 GF/60 this season with an even better 3.22 xGF/60 on the campaign. Chicago has watched opponents score on them at a rate of 3.53 GA/60. In their last 10 games, it's been an improvement from their season total, allowing only 3.40, but it's still enough to believe in the Sens tonight if you're interested.

While Ottawa has offensive talent and the matchup to like them, especially at such big odds, they haven't shown enough recently (3.04 GF/60 in last 10 games) to love them tonight. Despite the fourth-best odds on the slate, it's reasonable to look elsewhere.
