Rome Odunze goes ninth overall to Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears selected Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze with the ninth pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

What It Means

Despite some incredible wide receiver play across college football last season, it was actually Odunze who led the NCAA in receiving yards in 2023. He tallied 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns on 92 receptions in his final season with the Washington Huskies and will now take his talents to the next level.

Odunze was viewed by some draft analysts as the most complete wide receiver in this year's draft class. He flashed some next-level route running at Washington and tested like a top-caliber athlete at the NFL Combine.

Odunze will join a stacked wide receiver room in Chicago, with D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen running routes for first overall pick Caleb Williams. The Bears' offense could be must-watch television in 2024.
