Giants select LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with sixth overall pick

The New York Giants selected LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the sixth pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

What It Means

Nabers and LSU teammate Jayden Daniels combined to form the most potent offense in college football in 2023, with the explosive receiver routinely ripping off long plays in the open field. He finished his junior season with an absurd receiving line of 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Nabers' athleticism was apparent in his yards after the catch production -- 589 of his 1,569 yards came with the ball in his hands, and he forced an absurd 30 missed tackles despite frequently operating as a downfield receiver.

Nabers will now join a Giants team that has needed wide receiver production since it traded away Odell Beckham Jr. He should hit the ground running as the team's top pass-catching option as early as Week 1.

By selecting Nabers, the Giants appear to be set on going with a quarterback room of Drew Lock and Daniel Jones to open the season.
