Broncos' Bo Nix drawing praise for consistency in rookie camp

While regular OTAs won't officially kick off for another week in Denver, the Broncos are hosting their annual rookie minicamp. Front and center for this year's camp is first round pick Bo Nix, who could work his way into becoming the team's Week 1 starting quarterback in 2024.

The 12th overall pick is expected to work as part of a "rotation" this offseason according to Payton, but it's hard to see him being drastically outplayed by Zach Wilson or Jarrett Stidham. Fantasy managers could look for early warning signs if he is unable to separate himself from that pack over the summer.

Nix has drawn early praise from his coaches and teammates in rookie camp, with Payton specifically calling out the quarterback's efficiency, consistency, and decision-making. Those were three hallmarks of Nix's final collegiate season, where he completed 77% of his passes for 45 touchdowns and 3 interceptions while averaging an elite 11.2 yards per attempt.

The Broncos have not made the playoffs since their 2015 Super Bowl victory and have +590 odds to make the playoffs on FanDuel Sportsbook this year. Having Nix work out for them at quarterback would be their first step as a franchise towards making it back to the postseason.
