NBA Prop Bets for Today: Best NBA Props
Jayson Tatum Under 26.5 Points (-102)
Nets at Celtics — 7:30 p.m. ET
Jayson Tatum - Points
I'm starting with the under on Jayson Tatum in what could be a difficult game environment for his scoring volume.
Tatum is averaging 24.0 points through the Boston Celtics' first three games, and he's stayed below this 26.5-point line twice. He scored 13 points in the opener, erupted for 36 against the Knicks, and then finished with 23 in Monday's blowout win over Chicago.
That last game is particularly relevant because Boston is playing on the second night of a back-to-back. Tatum logged only 28 minutes Monday with the Celtics cruising to a 134-99 victory, but this could be another game where his workload is reduced.
The Brooklyn Nets enter at 0-3, and Boston is an 11.5-point favorite. That introduces meaningful blowout risk for a player whose scoring line is already above his early-season average.
At essentially even money, I'll take Tatum to finish with 26 or fewer points.
Victor Wembanyama Under 27.5 Points (-130)
Kings at Spurs — 8:00 p.m. ET
Victor Wembanyama - Points
Victor Wembanyama is always capable of putting up a huge scoring night, but this number looks a little inflated compared to what we've seen from him to begin the year.
Wembanyama has scored 12, 25, and 23 points through three games, putting him at 20.0 points per game. He's yet to reach 28 points and has attempted 21 or fewer shots in every game.
The matchup certainly is a nice one as the Sacramento Kings have surrendered 124.0 points per game through their 0-3 start. The bigger concern for an over is whether Wembanyama gets enough fourth-quarter run for the San Antonio Spurs. San Antonio is favored by 18.5 points tonight, so there is gobs of blowout risk.
Wembanyama has played 34, 32, and 29 minutes in his first three games. If the Spurs build a lopsided lead, he may not see enough minutes to pile up 28-plus points.
Austin Reaves Over 23.5 Points (-108)
Trail Blazers at Lakers — 11:00 p.m. ET
Austin Reaves - Points
We'll finish the night by backing Austin Reaves to stay hot for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Reaves has started the season with point totals of 23, 28, and 29, giving him an average of 26.7 points per game. He's cleared tonight's 23.5-point line in each of his past two outings while logging 38 and 36 minutes.
His efficiency has been excellent, too. Reaves went 10-of-13 from the field against the Clippers before shooting 7-of-12 in Sunday's win over Utah. He's taken on a sizable offensive role and hasn't needed massive shot volume to produce.
Unlike the two other games we’ve touched on so far, this matchup should offer a much better chance for four competitive quarters. The Lakers are only 2.5-point favorites over the Portland Trail Blazers, and the game carries a 234.5-point total.
With Reaves playing big minutes and already showing a consistent scoring floor, I like him to get to at least 24 points tonight.
NBA Player Prop Bets FAQ
What are NBA player prop bets?
NBA player prop bets are wagers on specific statistical outcomes for individual players during a game — independent of which team wins or loses. You might bet on how many points a star guard scores, whether a big man grabs 10 or more rebounds, or how many assists a point guard dishes out.
What types of NBA player props are available?
FanDuel offers an extensive menu of NBA props. The most common categories include:
- Points — over/under on a player's scoring total
- Rebounds — over/under on total boards (offensive + defensive)
- Assists — over/under on dimes dished
- Three-pointers made — over/under on made threes
- Points + rebounds + assists (PRA) — combined stat total for those three stats
- Double-double or triple-double — yes/no prop on achieving the milestone
How do NBA player prop odds work?
NBA props use the standard American (moneyline) odds format. A negative number indicates how much you must wager to profit $100, while a positive number shows the profit on a $100 bet.
- -115 odds — bet $115 to win $100
- +115 odds — bet $100 to win $115
- -200 odds — bet $200 to win $100
What is a points prop bet in the NBA?
A points prop is a bet on whether a specific player will score over or under a set total. For example, a line might read: LeBron James — Points — Over 24.5 (-110).
Key factors to research before betting points props include the player's recent scoring form, the opposing team's defensive rating and points allowed to their position, pace of play, and how many minutes the player is likely to play.
What is a PRA prop bet for NBA?
PRA stands for Points + Rebounds + Assists — a combined stat prop that totals all three categories into one number. For example, a Nikola Jokic PRA line might be set at 49.5.
PRA props are popular for versatile players because their contributions span multiple statistical categories. They're less volatile than single-stat props since a slow scoring night can be offset by a strong rebounding or passing game.
