Willson Contreras (forearm) returning to action Monday for Cardinals
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras (forearm) is in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach and the Atlanta Braves.
What It Means
The Cardinals activated Contreras from the injured list on Monday after he missed most of May and June with a fractured left forearm. He will catch for Lance Lynn and bat third in Monday's opener. Pedro Pages will shift to a reserve role moving forward.
