Ray Kerr recalled for Braves, making first MLB start Friday

The Braves recalled Kerr from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday and placed AJ Smith-Shawver on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain. Kerr made four appearances out of the bullpen for the Braves this month, but the 29-year-old lefty will be making the first start of his MLB career on Friday in Pittsburgh.
