St. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Arenado (elbow) is not in the lineup for Thursday's series opener against right-hander Keaton Winn and the San Francisco Giants.
What It Means
Arenado was pulled from Wednesday's series finale against the Miami Marlins due to a right elbow contusion. He will miss a game or two, but should return at some point during the Cardinals' series versus the Giants. Brandon Crawford will cover third base on Thursday and hit seventh.
