Mets' Mark Vientos in cleanup spot Wednesday afternoon

New York Mets infielder Mark Vientos will start on third base and bat out of the cleanup spot in Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander James Paxton and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

What It Means

Vientos will move into the cleanup role for the first time this season and J.D. Martinez will hit third for the first time. Lefty hitters Brandon Nimmo and DJ Stewart are both out of the lineup against a southpaw pitcher.
