Diamondbacks starting Blaze Alexander at shortstop on Friday

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Blaze Alexander is batting ninth in Friday's lineup against the San Diego Padres.

Alexander will operate the shortstop role after Kevin Newman was benched in San Diego.
