Minnesota Vikings Draft USC WR Jordan Addison 23rd Overall

Extending a run of four straight wide receivers selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings drafted USC receiver Jordan Addison 23rd overall.

Addison could have an instant impact within the Vikings' offense.

Jordan Addison NFL Draft Profile

Addison's small frame -- he's 5'11" and 173 pounds -- is a bit less of a red flag than you might think.

Addison won the Biletnikoff award while at Pitt in 2021, and although his production waned at USC (from 1,593 yards to 875 yards), he still maintained an 81.5 PFF grade last season.

Jordan Addison Top Comparables

According to my NFL prospect database -- which accounts for athleticism, production, size, draft capital, age, and more historically important variables -- here are Addison's top five comparable players.

  1. Jahan Dotson - 91.2%
  2. John Ross - 90.1%
  3. DeSean Jackson - 90.1%
  4. Percy Harvin - 90.0%
  5. Garrett Wilson - 89.9%

Jordan Addison in Minnesota

With the release of Adam Thielen, not much stands in the way of Addison from becoming the team's WR2 behind Justin Jefferson.

Based on numberFire's expected points model, the Vikings were the ninth-most efficient passing unit in football from last season, and that should put Addison in the running for the best opportunity of any rookie receiver in 2023.

Minnesota Vikings 2023 Outlook

Based FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, the Vikings have a win total set at 8.5 (with -105 odds on the over).

Their Super Bowl odds are +4000, ranking them tied for 16th in the NFL.
