NZ - Waverley - Race 7

HOLLABACK GIRL (9) set the pace and fought on gamely to finish second at Otaki a fortnight ago. She loves heavy ground, and she should go close to taking them all the way here. MALLEABLE (1) bounced back into form with a game third at Ruakaka nearly 2 weeks ago when only beaten by a head. He seems to prefer some slightly firmer ground, and even from a wide gate, he can figure in the top 3 again. WAVE (10) is a progressive mare who has continued to improve in each of his 3 starts to date. The step up to 1 m will suit her, and she is good enough to win a race at short notice. JILLY OCEAN (12) was a late scratching when set to make her debut earlier in the month, and she has trialled well for stewards since then. The market will again be our best guide. HILL BILLY (2) is a lightly tried 6YO gelding resuming from a spell after making his debut last spring. He has had the benefit of a trial last month, and could be one to add some value to any top 4 combos.
