Verdict

DARK AND DUSTY (15) has found it hard to win another race, but the same can be said about most of his rivals here. He won't lack fitness, and he will look likely at some stage of this race. Hard to beat, and he is a must for all combos. THE LIQUIDATOR (17) has been disappointing this year, and he looked a lot better when finishing fifth off a freshen up at Woodville a month ago. He tries a middle distance for the first time, and that could be the key to him finding some good form again. Each way value. RIBELLA ROSE (12) has the best exposed form of any in this, and her post-maiden fourth at Otaki 2 weeks ago was very good. Stepping back out to a middle distance will help her, and she can take this out. BERNARDO (5) just battled on the very testing track at Hastings 9 days ago, and his third at Tauherenikau before that is the better guide to use. Stick with him on an each-way basis. CONEY ISLAND (7) has raced his way into form this prep, and he has top 3 claims. CONEY ISLAND (7)
