Verdict

KOMOCEAN (2) is a very progressive and lightly tried 4YO mare who resumed with a brave effort for third at New Plymouth 2 weeks ago over 6f. She will relish the extra 1f, and bad ground is no problem. She benefits from a 4lbs claim, and is the one to beat for us. Follow your money. KOSTA (4) will be backing up quickly after a modest run on the poly track at Awapuni 6 days ago where he did not seem to handle the going. He has a superior gate back to his favoured turf surface here, and it is encouraging to see Jonathan Riddell keep the faith. Stick with him at some top 3 value. NEW YORK BELLE (11) was too strong fresh up over 7f on her home track at Waverley 4 weeks ago, and she will improve again on wet tracks this year. She strips fitter, drops in weight, and she can repeat the dose. ARKSEY (10) resumes from a spell, and he will appreciate racing on a heavy track. Follow any market moves. WHISKEY N' RYE (8) was close up when resuming, and he is much better second up. Each way.
