Good race for EMPIRE GRACE (4) to find winning form. Close up here fresh then tackled tougher grade at Morphettville and although sixth was less than two lengths behind the winner when hitting the line hard. Very well placed here on essentially her (nearest) home track and gets chance to break through. FUSSY AS (1) just missed in a Class 1 at Morphettville two back then gave a sight again latest but weakened right out of it on a wet track at Gawler. Firmer footing will help and will take catching on best. GRINZINGER ACE (5) found the line nicely to return to winning form last time. Just missed here three back and looks tough to hold out again. SADLER'S SONG (7) took on tougher company last start in town and was safely held. This more suitable and should be a big improver. EXONUMIA (2) has been thereabouts last few and off the low draw can give a sight.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Fractions

The times recorded during the race; with timing starting just past the gate or when the gates open, then parroted for the quarter, half, three-quarters etc. Used as an indication of ability and speed.
