FROSE (4) has returned to form in her last couple of outings, most recently finishing just 1.2 lengths away over 5f at Bendigo. Might be looking for this slightly longer trip now. Maps nicely just off the speed and will be tough to hold out. SPIKE ALMIGHTY (1) found 4 ½f a bit slick first-up at Mt Gambier but he did get going when the race was all over. Placed here at this distance last prep. Key runner with a bit of race fitness now on side. AMBELLO (3) has been beaten under a length at his last two outings, both in country Victoria. Veteran with a decent record over this trip, filling a top three spot on eleven occasions. Strong each-way contender. BOLTONOVA (9) led but couldn't keep going over 6f at Balaklava recently. Should give some cheek dropping back to 5 ½f. ZUETORO (2) might be worth another chance with the blinkers coming off this afternoon.
