Verdict

Good luck, punters. Does it get any harder to find a winner in the last? Each-way odds the field in opening markets with many given a chance here. Perhaps VINTAGE STAR (9) is ready to win after a couple of OK runs this spring. He's a hard horse to catch but he does boast obvious ability and his last start effort over 5 ¼f was full of merit. MURPH (4) is flying, having won consecutive races over 5 ½f and 6 ¼f. He draws perfectly and will again get the run of the race. He looks a winning threat. OVERSTRIKE (5) is another last-start winner that deserves plenty of thought. Big weight is a worry but he does race best fresh and he's four weeks between runs. You cannot dismiss Victorian raider BIG WATCH (2), who gets Pannell on from a good draw, while THREATENING (17) can go into quaddies at a big price.
