MALDINI (4) switched to the Theodore stable two back and has been ridden on pace which is a new role. Led for home but offered little last start over 7 ?f at this track. Fancy his chances if they take a sit behind a couple of go-forward types who are engaged. SAVANNAH CHILL (9) crosses the border after back-to-back wins in country Victoria, the latest in a BM62 over the Cranbourne mile. Will go back from the wide alley then under the light weight will be tough to hold out again. SHADOW EAGLE (8) gapped them two back at Murray Bridge then almost made it two in a row when edged out over today's course and distance most recently. Rock-hard fit after three runs back and in a similar race today can go one better. ALPINE FLYER (3) was only 2.9 lengths away in the Gawler Cup last start which is decent form for a race like this. Hasn't won since August 2024 but this is not out of reach. SHADY THINKER (2) is another big chance after two narrow misses in a row at this track.
