Verdict

DUAL PRESSURE (3) ticks plenty of boxes here and looks the one. He's in winning form and looks well-placed on the seven-day back-up dropping from 131lbs to 117lbs. From barrier two, he maps to find a position on speed and will take plenty of catching. He's a horse on the up. STIRRUP CUP (5) wasn't far off Dual Pressure last start. While he meets him slightly worse at the weight, he will appreciate getting onto the main track and Morphettville, which should allow him to use his brilliant turn of foot. He can be finishing over the top of them. HARD PRINCE (9) looks ready to win after showing form in strong races, while TOSEN WATER (4) looks an each-way chance and must go into exotics and wider plays.

Racing well recently. At the latest run raced right near the speed and boxed on, won by a head at Morphettville Parks Bm78 November 15 over 7 ¾f defeating Stirrup Cup with 131lbs at $4.20. The run before that ran on from midfield, 4th of 14 at Gawler Gawl Cup on October 24 over 7 ½f, slow going 1.5 len behind Air Assault carrying 119lbs at $4. An inside gate is a big advantage. Draws a nice barrier and will be very competitive again.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Track Bias

The term used to identify which parts of the track or running styles are producing more winners.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
