Verdict

The punters will roar if FREE BEER (1) looms as a winning chance and he definitely can. He mixes his form but his best is clearly good enough to measure up here. Murtagh goes back on and he seems to get the best out of the horse. The weight is some concern but if he can get some cover and settle, he will be hard to hold out. It's been a while between wins for THE GUAVA (3), who tackles this race fresh. He can run a cheeky race and any rain on the day will aid his chances. Expecting sharp improvement from THE MAGISTRATE (5), who draws a gate and can run along on the speed with no weight on his back. If he can get an easy sectional, he might be hard to run down.
