Verdict

The staying feature of the day and ARUGAMAMA (1) looks the clear standout. She destroyed her rivals in a heat of this series over the track and distance two starts back and she can repeat the dose here. She was far from disgraced in a harder race in Melbourne during Cup week last start. Back to SA, she can roll forward, race in the first four and will be hard to hold out. TALISAY (6) has never won beyond 7 ¾f, but she's been racing like a horse that will appreciate the rise to 1 ?/16m. She's got plenty of ability and looks a strong top-three chance. It's aggressive placement with KIRKLISTON BLU (4), who is running for the third consecutive week, having stepped straight from 7f to 1 ?m and now to 1 ?/16m. He does look a stayer on the rise through so he can finish in the money. CAPULET (2) and EVENTUALLY (3) can both sneak into the placings with the right run.
