AU - Morphettville - Race 1

MATAHGA (2) was excellent first-up over a trip short of his best, good through line and only just missing the placings in a blanket finish. He'll take strong improvement from that and should relish rising to the mile. BOOTLEGGER (1) thrived stepping to the mile third-up, knuckling down to claim the LR Morphettville Guineas on Cup day. He gets in well again with the 7lbs claim and looks a great chance to go back-to-back in this small field. MOSTLY FOR SHOW (3) also comes through the Guineas, where he left himself with too much to do but did warm late. With only four runners engaged he should settle much closer, and it wouldn't shock to see him turn the tables. FLYING BRANT (5) shed his maiden tidily last start but this is a steep rise in class.
