Verdict

Tricky race. If POWERFUL TORQUE (5) replicates what he did last time at Sandown Hillside they'll struggle to beat him. He went to the front there and never looked like losing as a $21 chance, scoring by 1.5 lengths. If they ride him similarly here he can repeat the dose. MOZU MARCASSIN (4) doesn't win out of turn but wasn't far away last time at Sandown Lakeside in a stronger race behind Scintillante. If he can hold a spot from the inside gate he'll take holding out. THINKING GOLD (3) struggled up in grade at Flemington last start but had been in good form prior and should be far better placed rising in trip now. WARCHIME (1) won well at Seymour last time in a form reversal and has to be considered off that. MOTIVER (6) stuck on well over further last start and could continue to progress.

Workout

A workout is a timed sprint over varying distances prior to a race, meant to get a horse fit enough for competition.

Objection

Claim of foul lodged by a jockey for perceived dangerous or illegal riding by a rival.
