THE FLYING POPOV (8) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on April 6, finishing ninth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 1m at Sandown. The form prior was good, though, and has trialled well in preparation for the return. SILVER BULLET (1) is still only lightly raced, having had just six starts, but has already won better races than this, including a 0-66 at Pakenham last prep. Trials this time in have been good enough to suggest he can show up fresh. REGAL MIGHT (4) ran second at the first two runs this prep and was then stepped up in class, which he found beyond him, but can return to his best in this grade. MATERAZZI (5) will find this a little easier after missing the frame in town last time, finishing ninth over 7f at Sandown. Worth including. FIRERATED (2) scored by a long neck last start over this journey at Ballarat Synthetic. Has a good record at this trip with a win and one minor placing. Leading player.
