ROYAL INFANTRY (2) returned from a four-month spell and encountered a synthetic track for the first time when a barnstorming second over 6f here last start. Sure to take a lot from that hit-out and the extra 1f is ideal. Clearly the testing material. PACIFIC JEWEL (4) led and gave a kick but just failed to hang on when resuming over this distance at Mildura recently. Only needs to handle this surface to be a tough bunny to catch. AKA DAKA (1) has hit the line well at his last couple, both over 6f at this circuit. Crying out for this distance at the fourth run back from a spell. LUCKY COMPASS (11) has been kept fresh since a modest first-up effort over 7 ½f here as favourite. Open to plenty of improvement.
