Hard to rule any of these out. ZALE (2) has been freshened up since leading until the dying stages over 5 ½f at Warwick Farm a month ago. Distance specialist who brings superior form to the table, although 61.5kgs is a steadier. Will go fast and take a ton of catching. The lightly raced REIGN OF HONOR (10) returned from a 194-day break with a game all-the-way win in an 5 ½f Hawkesbury maiden last time out. Big step up today but he draws ideally and is open to plenty of improvement, so the task is not insurmountable. MYRIAD (9) was well in commission but turned in a shocker over 5 ½f at Hawkesbury recently. That was his first look at a soft track which may have contributed. Tread warily if there is give in the ground, but he probably deserves the benefit of the doubt. PENTAGON (5) finished third over 7f at Hawkesbury at his latest run on December 14. Good signs with a subsequent trial win at Rosehill. Promising and can measure up.
