OAKFIELD SATURN (6) lightly raced filly who jumped quickly in trip at her second race start when closing off strongly for a tenacious third over 7 ½f at Newcastle. Drops further in weight with the claim and will take holding out. SISU SPIRIT (2) resumed from a long layoff with a gritty on pace win over 7 ½f at Newcastle. Returned good figures on that occasion and has the speed to slide across from the awkward draw. Goes close again. SHARON DRIVE (4) has a good third up record and gets her chance from the inside gate. Tired late with the 129lbs when fifth over 1m at Gosford. No excuses here. PROMISING PROSPECT (12) comes here in peak form after chipping away late to finish third over 1m at Goulburn. Goes into the exotics.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
