Verdict

A good Class 1. MELANITE (1) resumed with an excellent all-the-way win in the $250k Magic Million Maiden over 5 ½f at the Gold Coast last start. Good form is already coming out of that race. Beautifully drawn and coming back to 5f is no knock. Can keep the momentum going. HONEY PERFUME (4) is back after a six-month spell. In the top three at ten of her 11 starts. Loves the 5f dashes and two recent trials should have he forward enough to run her usual honest race. GAMBLER (2) appreciated being ridden close to the speed last time out when runner-up over this trip at Kembla. Very fit and from a good draw he should be prominent for a long way again. FIERCE (3) last raced when a narrow winner on debut over today's distance at Hawkesbury in September. The winner of two recent trials so he looks fully wound up. NOTHING BUT NET (7) struggled over 6f at Gosford last start and should improve sharply coming back to five furlongs.
