Verdict

HARD GRUNT (1) finds the maiden win elusive but it certainly hasn't been without trying, placing in his last four. Strips rock-hard fit and only needs to hold his form to again be in the finish. DIVINE SPARK (8) is another that finds it tough to break the ice but has turned in many strong showings. Will need a smart steer from the wide gate but has peaks that measure right up. RING OF FIRE (7) disappointed last start here as favourite but has prior form that reads well for this. Can't be dismissed. TASSY FOX (11) was also a disappointing favourite last time, only managing third on a wet deck at Albury. Earlier form this prep here puts her in contention but she does rise sharply in trip.
