BETTER OFF ALONE (1) looks an above-average filly who is absolutely busting to get off the mark. She lacked a fitness edge fresh before finishing full of running last time in the Wellington Boot. Peaking now and is the one to beat. LORD ELROND (2) returns a gelding and looks to have come back in terrific order judging by his recent trial win. He was pushed out strongly over 5 ¼f, so he should be ready to fire first up and is the main danger. NO ORDINARY SHOW (8) is a Hanseatic filly on debut for the Widdison yard. She has come along nicely in her jumpouts but will need a smart steer from the wide draw. EYES RIGHT (7) also debuts and is a Zousain filly for local trainer Tim Donnelly. Just the one quiet trial in readiness and worth respecting if there's late money for her. BORATA'S GIRL (6) has been in the frame at both starts here and is open to further improvement. Colvin is usually lethal during his hometown carnival, so you have to keep the stable safe across the two days.
