AU - Port Hedland - Race 1

TAKE THE FIELD (1) disappointed at Roebourne last start but was in much better form at this track prior when knocking on the door. An inside barrier is a big tick now, as is the senior rider taking over from the apprentice. Can bounce back today and land the knockout blow. HALF TIME SIREN (4) missed narrowly as a $20 chance last start at Roebourne and comes back to the 6f journey this time. That may be a query, but he's a lightly raced gelding with some upside and he has to be included on that recent run. DARK OPAL (7) was below her best last time when tenth over 6f at this track, beaten 5.5 lengths. Likely improver with strong prospects. LEAFICE (9) finished seventh when resuming from a spell for a new stable and tackling a dirt track for the first time at Marble Bar over 6f last start. Drawn to stalk the leaders. Will give a great sight. MINOZZA (3) won't be far away.
