THE BIG PICTURE (4) got too far back in a sprint home at Timaru 2 back then again well back and struggled to get a run until too late at Riccarton last time. Step up to 7f looks ideal now. BELLISH BOY (3) sat behind the leaders from the pole draw and bolted clear for a big win over this trip here last start. Drawn handy enough again and must be respected. ARCTIC JEWEL (5) was outclassed in the LR Gore Guineas last season but has shown promise in two runs this prep coming from near the rear for solid 5ths at Timaru and here. Extra trip should be ok now. PERUGIA (11) is a former North Islander first-up for a new stable. Good record at this trip and placed 2 of 4 first-up runs. Consider. GIBBY PAY CHEQUE (2) back from a decent spell when he sat outside the leader before taking some cover and coming out on the turn and was strong to the line at big odds last start. Won too well to be a fluke.
