Verdict

MISS ZIGGY (10) was racing well in hot fields prior to finishing ninth in the G1 1000 Guineas at Riccarton just over 6 weeks ago. She drops in class, and weight, so she goes on top here. POGACAR (7) has been a late scratching since his last win here in October. He has plenty of ability and also a few tricks. The best version of this gelding will give the top pick plenty to think about. WAR COURT (3) is a handy but lightly tried 6-year-old gelding who resumed with a big late run for third on the poly track at Riccarton nearly 3 weeks ago. Stick with him for all top 4 combos. RICHIE'S DREAM (6) raced well on his home track of Ruakaka through the winter and has finished fourth in a Pukekohe trial this season. She cops a tough gate, but can't be risked. Check the market. SHOW PONY (4) has been below his best recently, but is better than that, and should be included in all combinations to be safe.
