ZAVEGA (6) made it three wins from her last four starts, all at 5f, when she got home by the skin of her teeth in a BM58 at the Gold Coast five weeks ago. Very good fresh performer and has to date been unbeatable in these sharp sprints. Yet to win on a wet track which is the only reservation. PEREGRINA PEARL (11) has returned this prep under new trainer Melissa Dennett in outstanding form, leading all the way to win both races. Had to pull out all the stops to get the prize over 4 ½f at Scone last time. Untried on a wet track but deserves the benefit of the doubt. IT STAYS IN VEGAS (3) showed pace but ran out of steam late when resuming over 5f at Scone recently. Handles wet ground and should offer a lot more resistance with that run under the belt. Lightly raced four-year-old DENMAN BANDIT (5) returns from a 20-week spell. Has won in the wet and first-up so he has the right credentials. SPEEDY ONE (2) is unbeaten in three second-up runs. He can improve sharply.
