Verdict

SHOREMAN (6) was game two back at Goulburn before finishing 2.8L off the winner on the Turf course here most recently. Penza remains in the irons and he has enough speed to roll across from the wide draw. Can sit handy today and get back to winning ways. GIRLS WEEKEND (4) missed by 0.7L two back here on the Turf before under by 2.1L during the Wagga Carnival 21 days ago. Up in trip now doesn't look an issue and with her early speed, she'll be tough to reel in. LIGHTNING SPEED (2) comes through the same race where she too was disappointing at Wagga last time out, dropping back to an unsuitable trip. Back out to 6 ?f here is a bonus and Owen's booking is a good push for her chances. Can make her presence felt from the inside alley. SPIRITS BURN DEEP (3) is next best back in trip.

Shoreman silk

Recent form sound. Last start 3rd in a small field at Canberra Cl2 on May 8 over 6f, slow going 2.75 len behind Written By Lucy carrying 125lbs at $4.60. The run before that tracked the speed and boxed on steadily, won by a head at Goulburn Cg&E Cl1 April 27 over 5 ½f defeating London Boy carrying 121lbs at $6. Looks well placed here off his recent efforts and he can get back to winning ways.

Girls Weekend silk

At the latest run faded in the straight 5th of 10 at Wagga Cl3 on May 1 over 5f, 2 len behind Wear The Crown carrying 121lbs at $13. Before that rolled along in front then was edged out late 2nd of 7 at Canberra Bm60 on April 17 over 5f, slow going 0.7 len behind Bode Akuna with 130lbs at $7.50. Might be better suited out to this trip now and can't be discounted.
