Home Run Picks, Props and Predictions Today
Home Run Prediction: Max Muncy (+400)
Dodgers at Tigers, 1:11 p.m. ET
Max Muncy is up to 26 home runs this season, and the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ slugger draws the platoon advantage against Detroit Tigers right-hander Keider Montero.
Muncy has done considerable damage against right-handed pitching, posting a .248 ISO and 135 wRC+ in the split. The matchup also gives him a chance to get the ball in the air, as Montero has generated only a modest strikeout rate and has allowed a relatively high percentage of fly balls.
Muncy's combination of patience and pull-side power gives him the chance to lift one out of the yard on Saturday.
Home Run Prediction: Wyatt Langford (+520)
Rangers at Brewers, 7:16 p.m. ET
Wyatt Langford is an intriguing home run bet against Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Shane Drohan.
Langford has hit 15 home runs this season while producing a .205 ISO and 128 wRC+, giving him plenty of power even though injuries have limited his overall volume.
The matchup is the biggest reason to target him. Drohan owns a 3.84 ERA entering Saturday, and right-handed hitters have accounted for all nine home runs he has allowed this season. Righties have also produced a 40.7% fly-ball rate against him, so Langford should have a favorable opportunity to do damage from the heart of the Texas Rangers‘ lineup.
Home Run Prediction: Bryce Harper (+340)
Phillies at Angels, 10:08 p.m. ET
Bryce Harper is a strong home run target against Los Angeles Angels right-hander Ryan Johnson.
Harper enters Saturday with 27 home runs, a .267 average and a .507 slugging percentage this season, and he has gone deep five times in August alone.
The matchup is the biggest selling point. Johnson owns a 5.75 ERA across 67.1 innings and has already surrendered 16 home runs this season. Left-handed hitters have taken him deep nine times in just 38.1 innings while posting a .447 slugging percentage against him.
Harper gets the platoon advantage and remains one of the Philadelphia Phillies biggest power threats, making this a favorable spot for him to add another home run.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does +310 mean on an MLB home run prop bet?
A +310 line means a $100 bet returns $310 in profit if the player homers. You can bet any amount — a $10 bet at +310 returns $31 in profit. The number reflects the implied probability the sportsbook assigns to the event (roughly 24% for +310 odds).
What happens to my FanDuel HR prop if the player doesn't start?
FanDuel's policy is that a HR prop bet will not be voided if the player records at least one at-bat — even as a pinch hitter. If they don't get any at-bat, the bet is typically voided. Always check FanDuel's official terms before placing your wager.
Can I parlay home run props together on FanDuel?
Yes. FanDuel allows you to parlay multiple HR props as a standard parlay or as part of a Same Game Parlay (SGP) within a single game. All legs must win for the parlay to pay out.
What factors matter most when betting MLB home run props?
Some of the most important factors are: the hitter's recent HR rate and raw power profile, the opposing pitcher's home run rate allowed, ballpark dimensions and park factors, wind direction and game-time temperature, and batter-vs-pitcher handedness splits.
