Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford: Odds, How to Watch Undisputed Welterweight Title Bout

There have been many thrilling fights in the squared circle this summer, but on Saturday (July 29), we will see one of the most anticipated bouts of the century.

Putting all belts on the line, Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr. (28-0, 22 KO) will meet Terence "Bud" Crawford (39-0, 30 KO) for the undisputed welterweight champion designation in a 12-round match.

You can put the "influencers boxing for views" stuff away this weekend. Spence-Crawford will be one of the finest displays of tactical skill and grit. Remember: you can play basketball, football, baseball or soccer, but you don't "play" boxing ...

Headlining a 10-match fight card, Crawford and Spence will have major hardware and legacy on the line. Naturally, there is only one town on Earth for a bout like this: fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada (T-Mobile Arena -- home of current Stanley Cup champs, the Vegas Golden Knights).

How To Watch Spence vs. Crawford

Showtime will have the broadcasting rights in the United States via PPV for $84.99.

In the U.K., TNT Sports (fmr. BT Sport) will also carry the fight via PPV (£19.95).

The card is slated to begin at 8 p.m. ET, with Main event ringwalks for Spence-Crawford scheduled tentatively for 11 p.m. ET.

Hailing from "Big D" Dallas, Texas, the southpaw Spence is potentially building a Hall-of-Fame career. Despite coming into Saturday's match as a slight underdog (+116 moneyline at FanDuel Sportsbook), Spence is the current IBF World, WBA Super World, and WBC World Welterweight champion.

The most recent belt Spence collected was the WBA Super World title against Yordenis Ugas in April of 2022 -- that was Spence's last time in the ring, so he enters Saturday's clash with Crawford on a 15-month break.

Like Crawford, Spence has an incredibly well-rounded skill-set of speed, power, timing, and ring maneuverability. Still, Spence is both the younger (33 years) and taller (5-foot-9½) fighter compared to Bud -- will that have any bearing in the ring this weekend?

This will be Spence's first fight in Vegas in nearly 10 years. Additionally, he has fought on the West Coast only once during that span. However, once the lights go on and the bell sounds, I doubt that will be much of a factor.

Terence Crawford

Amongst the boxing community, there are many that support Crawford as one of the best fighters in the world, and certainly top dog at 147 pounds. Currently, both ESPN and the Boxing Writers Associate of America have Crawford as their very best pound-for-pound fighter while Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and The Ring each have him ranked third in respective P4P ratings. Still, Spence is present in the top-five of those rankings as well.

Like Spence, Crawford is also an undefeated southpaw. As mentioned, Bud is two years older than Spence and just slightly shorter, yet, Crawford boasts the longer reach (74 inches versus Spence's 72). Additionally, Crawford has a bit more fight experience -- his 30 knockout victories (in 39 fights) are more than Spence total fight count of 28.

Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Crawford is the fighting pride of the Cornhusker State. At the moment, he has held the WBO World Welterweight title since defeating Jeff Horn back in 2018. Against Spence, Crawford will be defending his belt for the seventh time.

In Crawford's most recent work (last December), he knocked out David Avanesyan in the sixth round with a flush jaw shot coming from his off-hand -- quite an impressive strike. Right now, Crawford is riding a 10-fight streak of winning via stoppage. Yet, the Will Fight Go The Distance odds at FanDuel Sportsbook has "Yes" at -220.

With two undefeated, highly skilled lefties clashing in Sin City, something has to give. Spence-Crawford may be the most anticipated boxing match since Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather. Of course, the latter fighters were far past their prime when they finally clashed.

An outright draw (which is priced at +1600 in the Method of Victory market on FD), though elusive, does not seem like a terrible play for Saturday night.
