College Basketball Betting Picks for Saturday 11/11/23: Targeting 3 Totals

The college basketball season always provides a flurry of twists and turns that few saw coming -- especially when March Madness comes around. This can make college basketball one of the most challenging sports to bet on.

Fortunately, we have plenty of tools available that can aid our chances of taking the most favorable college basketball bets. Bart Torvik and KenPom are excellent sources that give insights into team-level efficiency, and Sports Reference provides a wide range of useful team stats, as well.

Let's check out FanDuel Sportsbook's college basketball odds and select some of the best bets of the day by utilizing the mentioned tools.

College Basketball Best Bets

Texas A&M CC Islanders at Houston Cougars

Over 139.5 (-112)

The spread in this matchup is heavy at 31.5 points in favor of the 7th-ranked Houston Cougars, but we can still look at the over (139.5).

Last season, Houston games had a 48.5% over rate, but Texas A&M Corpus Christi matchups went over at a 64.5% rate.

Houston had a top-15 adjusted offense according to various metrics last year, as well, and their defense can be stifling for an offense as weak as the Islanders', but Houston should be able to rack up a lot of points on their own.

numberFire's model likes this game to put up 148.6 points in a big win for the Cougars.

Ohio Bobcats at Cleveland State Vikings

Under 150.5 (-110)

Neither side in this game operates with a particularly fast pace, which is projected to be tight (the Bobcats are 1.5-point road favorites).

Since the start of last season, Ohio ranks 246th in the nation in adjusted defense, per BartTorvik, and are just 130th in adjusted pace.

The Vikings are 164th in adjusted offense in that span -- but 271st in adjusted pace.

numberFire's algorithm projects just 144.0 total points in this matchup.

New Mexico State Aggies at UC-Irvine Anteaters

Over 138.5 (-110)

The adjusted offensive efficiency is pretty low for both the Aggies and Anteaters through the start of the new season, but the total here is low, and there are reasons to like the over in this matchup.

These two teams were quite over-friendly last season (57.7% and 57.6% on the overs), and the Aggies' defense is prone to giving up scoring.

Since the start of last season, games with totals between 136.5 and 140.5 have a 52.8% over rate.

The model at numberFire likes this game to score an average of 151.7 points. My model has it at 142.2.
