Champions League Picks Today: UCL Predictions
RB Leipzig vs. Manchester City Over 3.5 Goals (-110)
RB Leipzig vs. Manchester City — 3:00 p.m. ET
Manchester City's Champions League matches have produced plenty of fireworks this season, and Wednesday's clash with RB Leipzig has the potential to follow suit.
City have scored nine goals through their first three Champions League matches, including a 5-1 victory over AEK Athens in their most recent European outing. Their defense has also been vulnerable as they surrendered four goals in a 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on October 14. Overall, two of City's three Champions League fixtures have featured at least six total goals.
Leipzig have experienced similar defensive struggles against high-level European competition, conceding four goals apiece in losses to Como and Real Madrid. Those two matches both finished with five total goals, giving Leipzig two matches with at least five goals through three Champions League appearances.
With City averaging 3.0 goals per Champions League match and Leipzig having already conceded nine goals in the competition, there's a compelling statistical case for backing a high-scoring affair. Both sides have shown defensive vulnerabilities, and City's attacking firepower could help push this matchup over 3.5 goals.
Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Betis Draw (+310)
Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Betis — 3:00 p.m. ET
Borussia Dortmund and Real Betis have enjoyed similar levels of success in the Champions League thus far, setting up what could be a tightly contested matchup on Wednesday.
Both clubs enter Matchday 4 with six points from three matches — each recording two wins and one defeat. Dortmund have scored five goals and conceded five while Betis have scored six and surrendered four. Neither side has established a particularly significant statistical advantage through the opening three games.
Betis have also demonstrated an ability to compete in close matches, earning one-goal victories over Porto and Feyenoord in their last two Champions League outings. Dortmund, meanwhile, needed a narrow 2-1 victory over Sabah to secure three points in their most recent European fixture.
Dortmund should benefit from playing at home, but Betis have shown enough attacking quality and defensive resilience to make this a competitive contest. With both teams entering Wednesday with identical records and relatively similar goal differentials, the draw at +310 odds catches my eye.
What is a moneyline bet in soccer?
A moneyline bet is a wager on which team will win the match. Because soccer matches can end in a draw, most moneyline markets include three options: the home team, the away team, or a draw.
What does “draw no bet” mean?
Draw no bet removes the draw as a losing outcome. If the match ends tied, your wager is refunded. If your team wins, the bet wins.
What is a soccer total?
A total is a bet on how many combined goals will be scored in a match. For example, an Over 2.5 Goals bet wins if at least three goals are scored.
What does “both teams to score” mean?
Both Teams to Score, often abbreviated BTTS, is a wager on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
