The UEFA Champions League rolls on Wednesday with more Matchday 2 fixtures, including several heavyweight matchups across Europe.

Manchester City hosts Paris Saint-Germain in the headliner, while Liverpool visits LASK and Real Madrid travels to Roma. Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, and Stuttgart are also in action, giving us plenty of betting options across the slate.

Let's break down four Champions League best bets for Wednesday.

Champions League Picks Today: UCL Predictions

Liverpool -1.5 (-140)

Liverpool at LASK, 12:45 p.m. ET

Liverpool is coming off a rough 3-0 Premier League loss to Manchester City, but this looks like an excellent bounce-back spot.

The Reds won their Champions League opener against Atlético Madrid and now get a significant step down in competition against LASK. Liverpool also has a favorable history in this matchup, winning both meetings with LASK in the 2023-24 Europa League by scores of 3-1 and 4-0. LASK, meanwhile, owns a 1-5 record across six matches against English opposition.

Even with Liverpool being on the road, the Reds should have a sizable talent advantage and enough attacking quality to separate over 90 minutes.

Aston Villa Moneyline (-160)

Fenerbahçe at Aston Villa, 3 p.m. ET

Villa opened Champions League play with a 3-2 road win over Club Brugge, and manager Unai Emery has vast experience navigating European competitions.

The matchup history is even more encouraging. Villa has won all three previous meetings with Fenerbahçe without conceding a single goal, and the English club has won five of seven all-time matches against Turkish opposition. Villa is also 3-0 at home against Turkish clubs in UEFA competition.

With Villa at home and carrying the better recent form, I'll back the hosts to get all three points.

Real Madrid Moneyline (-105)

Real Madrid at Roma, 3 p.m. ET

Real Madrid has to go on the road for this one, but I still like them at close to even money.

Madrid opened its Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Inter and enters Wednesday following a 1-0 La Liga win over Villarreal. Even after going down to 10 men late against Villarreal, Madrid was able to protect the lead and secure another three points.

Roma deserves respect. The Italian side is unbeaten in six straight matches and has recorded four clean sheets domestically this season, including Sunday's 0-0 draw with Como.

That strong defensive form is likely one reason Real Madrid is available at these odds.

Still, Madrid has elite attacking talent and already proved capable of beating another quality Serie A opponent in Inter on Matchday 1. At close to even money, I'm willing to side with Real Madrid.
