According to the NFL Draft betting odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, Ohio State's Paris Johnson Jr. was the favorite to be the first offensive lineman to be drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He was after the Arizona Cardinals selected him sixth overall.

Teams generally see good early returns from first-round offensive linemen, and that's a welcomed addition for the Cardinals in their endeavor to protect Kyler Murray.

Johnson Jr. was a model of consistency at Ohio State. The junior maintained PFF grades between 79.7 and 83.1 in all three seasons with the Buckeyes and allowed just 3 sacks on 925 pass-block snaps.

Although Johnson Jr.'s athleticism is a bit below expectation for such a highly-touted pick (NFL's Next Gen Stats model gives him an athleticism score of 76, ranking 14th in the class of offensive tackles), his overall size surely points to an NFL-ready prospect.

The Cardinals ranked league-average in sack rate allowed (6.2%) last season and a respectable 13th in PFF's pass block grade.

numberFire's expected points model ranked the passing offense 28th overall, however, and with the historically tangible impact of investing in the line, this is hardly a pick to question.

The Cardinals are more than a piece away and are listed at +820 to make the playoffs in 2023, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.

They're now the least-likely team to win the Super Bowl at +18000 odds, as well.
