Antiquarian Horse Trainer and Jockey
Hall-of-Fame trainer Todd Pletcher has won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer 8 times, including in 2022. He has won the Belmont Stakes 4 times already, and the Kentucky Derby twice (Always Dreaming in 2017 and Super Saver in 2010).
Todd Pletcher is the trainer for two other horses in this race: Protective and Mindframe.
Jockey John Velazquez was also inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012. He has won the Kentucky Derby 3 times, including in 2017 with Always Dreaming. He's also found great success at the Belmont Stakes with 2 wins in 2007 and 2012.
