5 College Basketball Games to Watch This Weekend: Houston Visits Baylor

Who’s ready for a great weekend?

Check below for our list of five games to watch this weekend in college basketball.

In no particular order:

College Basketball Games to Watch

Houston at Baylor (Saturday)

Leading the Cougars to a Big 12 regular season title in their first year in the conference -- Houston is listed at -270 to win it, per the college basketball odds at FanDuel Sportsbook -- would go on the mantle of Kelvin Sampson's top career accomplishments. That will feel like even more of a realistic goal if Houston can beat Baylor in Waco.

The Bears have shown flashes of promise this season but have yet to make a statement of why they should be viewed as a bonafide threat to advance deep into the NCAA Tournament. That can change with a win on Saturday.

Duke at Wake Forest (Saturday)

The Blue Devils have quietly won 16 of their 18 games but feel like they're operating on obscurity. It won't stay that way on Saturday.

Winston Salem should be on fire for this matchup, which is a critical one for the Demon Deacons. Steve Forbes' team boasts only one Quad 1 victory but can put itself in position to make the NCAA Tournament by beating Duke on its home floor. This is Wake Forest's biggest game yet in 2023-24.

Alabama at Kentucky (Saturday)

Are the Wildcats the team that controlled things against Auburn last Saturday or the team that stubbed its toe on Wednesday against LSU? It's been maddening to try and find out. They'll need to be elite defensively to stop the Crimson Tide, who boast one of the sport's best guards in Mark Sears.

With a win, Alabama can inch closer to the SEC regular season title. The Tide currently sport -125 odds to win the SEC.

Villanova at UConn (Saturday)

No human being had a worse week than Dan Hurley because he despises losing more than most Americans despise holiday weekend traffic on the way to the beach. The Huskies' loss at Creighton on Tuesday was a mid-season wake-up call.

Villanova will have to play a near perfect game to beat UConn on Saturday in Storrs.

UConn is listed at +110 odds to make the Final Four.

Creighton at St. John's (Sunday)

One week after Rick Pitino's now famous press conference following the Red Storm's loss to Seton Hall, St. John's will host Creighton at MSG.

The Bluejays are coming off a decisive win over top-ranked UConn, a game where they shot 14 for 28 from three-point range.

Pitino has yet to lead St. John's to a signature victory this season despite coming close many times. Things could be really interesting at the World's Most Famous Arena.
