Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy hockey on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing numberFire's projections as a guide, here are some NHL player props bets that look appealing via the NHL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NHL Prop Bets

Brady Tkachuk To Score a Goal (+145)/
Brady Tkachuk Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (+125)

The Ottawa Senators have a 3.55 implied goal total versus the Anaheim Ducks, which should be an offensive-minded game tonight.

Both teams are out of the playoff race, and with lackluster defenses on both sides, offense should be the name of the game tonight.

This season, both teams are in the bottom eight for the most Goals Allowed per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, and the Senators are in the top five (2.85) for Goals Scored in the same situations.

They both struggle on defense, but the Senators have the offense to pile up some goals, so that's where we'll start tonight.

Brady Tkachuk comes in with just a single goal over his last 10 games despite having a team-high 34 shots on goal. Tkachuk leads the team with 26 goals this season and 249 shots on goal, which are a whopping 99 more than the next player.

He is the engine for the Senators' offense and has an elite matchup to find the back of the net.

Alex DeBrincat Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-132)

With Dylan Larkin out for the next few weeks, someone on the Detroit Red Wings has to step up.

Larkin is the best offensive player for the Red Wings, and that leaves a void at the top of their lineup. While Larkin is the best overall player, Alex DeBrincat actually leads the team with 167 shots on goal through 61 games.

The Red Wings are also in the middle of a very tight Wild Card race, meaning they need full effort from everyone else. DeBrincat skates on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, putting him in a great spot to pile up the shots.

Tonight's game versus the Colorado Avalanche has a 6.5 over/under and sees both teams in the league's top seven for the most Goals scored per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations over the last two weeks.

This should create a strong back-and-forth game environment, presenting DeBrincat with plenty of chances tonight.
