NHL Prop Bets

Zach Hyman To Score a Goal (+130)

The Edmonton Oilers have a 3.81 implied goal total at home and are set to take on the Buffalo Sabres.

With 46 goals on the season, Zach Hyman has the third-most in the entire league, making him one of the more consistent players in the prop market. Over his last five games, he has 3 goals and 10 shots on goal, but all three of those goals came in the same game for a hat-trick.

Being held without a goal in four of his last five outings is a bit off for one of the best goal-scorers in the league but he has a matchup against the Sabres to get back on track.

Over the last two weeks, the Sabres' defense has allowed 1.83 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is actually the eighth-fewest in the league. However, if we dig into their Expected Goals Allowed (xGA), they are up at 2.86, which is the sixth-worst in the league.

Their defense is overperforming by a full goal allowed and signals they are due for some massive negative regression. This is because the Sabres allow 13.76 High Danger Scoring Chances per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-most in the NHL.

High-Danger Scoring Chances are the ones that come very close to the net. Interestingly enough, Zach Hyman leads the entire NHL with 64 High-Danger Unblocked Shot Attempts, which is good for 21.98 High Danger Expected Goals, which is the second-most in the league.

Hyman is elite at the exact thing the Sabres' defense struggles with, putting him in a great spot to score.

Anthony Duclair Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+150)

After being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Anthony Duclair has made an immediate impact.

In the four games with Tampa, The Duke has 10 shots on goal, 3 goals, and 2 assists. He's one of the best trade deadline acquisitions and he gets to take on his former team, the San Jose Sharks, who are a mess on defense this season.

This year, the Sharks have allowed 68.44 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the worst in the league. Teams can pile up the shots early and often against the Sharks, making them a clear target whenever they are on the slate.

Despite having played only four games for the Lightning, Duclair is up on the first forward line and the second power-play unit, putting him in a primary offensive role to grab some shots tonight.

Sebastian Aho To Record 1+ Assists (+102)

A 3.88 implied goal total for the Carolina Hurricanes should put them in the driver's seat against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Canes continue to be one of the best offensive teams in the league and with a matchup against the reeling Philadelphia Flyers, it should be a one-sided affair tonight.

Over the last two weeks, the Flyers have allowed 3.37 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is good for the seventh-worst in the league. Over that same time, the Canes are scoring a whopping 3.43 Goals, putting them as the fourth-best team.

This leads me to Sebastian Aho, who is the center on the first forward line and the first power-play unit for Carolina. He comes in with 9 assists in his last 10 games and 48 assists in 66 games this season. both of which lead the Hurricanes.

A great matchup and the lead role for the Canes puts him in a spot to pick up an apple tonight.
